Episode Overview

Introduction to Email Engagement and Unsubscribed Contacts

Last week's discussion on email engagement led to further exploration of related topics. This week, the focus is on a couple of hidden settings in Kajabi that are worth noting. Before diving into these settings, it's important to address a common practice when managing email lists. When filtering through unsubscribed contacts, it might be tempting to delete them, especially since Kajabi has limits on the number of contacts allowed in each plan. However, caution is advised because some unsubscribed individuals might be customers who have purchased products but simply do not want to receive emails.

Managing Unsubscribed Customers

It's crucial to recognize which unsubscribed contacts are customers. These individuals may have bought something from you and are still engaged with your products, even if they don't want to receive emails. Sometimes, customers might not even realize they are unsubscribed. Therefore, it's important not to remove these profiles from your list, as they are still valuable customers.

Default Time for Email Sequences

In Kajabi's Settings area, under Marketing Settings, there is an option to set a default time for sending email sequences. This setting is often overlooked because when building email sequences, you can specify when each email is sent (e.g., day one, day two). However, this setting determines the exact time of day and time zone for all sequences. This is particularly useful if you're working in a different time zone than where you want your emails to be sent. You can adjust the time and time zone for new sequences, and also change these settings for existing sequences by editing their individual settings.

Default Time for Dripping Course Content

Another important setting is found under Drip Settings, just below Marketing Settings. Here, you can set the default time for dripping course content. It's beneficial to set this early in the morning to ensure that content is available to students early in the day. This can prevent confusion if students expect content to be available but don't see it because it hasn't been dripped yet. Additionally, you can toggle whether an email notification is sent when new content is available. This notification uses the default email templates found in settings.

Conclusion

These settings can significantly improve how you manage email sequences and course content in Kajabi. By understanding and adjusting these settings, you can enhance the timing and delivery of your communications and content, ensuring a smoother experience for both you and your audience.
