Episode Overview

Introduction to the Problem

Hello and welcome to another episode of Kajabi in 5 Minutes. Today, we're addressing a common issue where the number of people in your program doesn't match the number of email sends when communicating with them. This can happen when sending reminders, updates, or schedules to a group. It's puzzling, but there are steps to resolve it.

Identifying the Issue

To start, go into your email area and check the broadcast you're sending. Identify the filter mechanism used—is it tags, offers, products, or customers? Remember this filter. Then, go into your contacts and apply the same filter. Check how many people match this filter. If the number aligns with your group size, you're using the right filter. If not, this could be why your emails aren't reaching everyone.

Recommended Filters

For group programs or courses in Kajabi, use the "Product" filter in the Contacts area. Choose "Owns" and select the relevant product. This usually shows who currently has that product and should match your active group members. Use this filter for your emails, as it might resolve the issue.

Additional Checks

Even with the correct filter, numbers might not match. Apply another filter: go to "Marketing" or "Marketing Status," then choose "Subscribed" and select "No." This shows people in your product who aren't subscribed to marketing emails. This is often the problem—people may have unsubscribed intentionally or accidentally during signup.

Resolving Unsubscribed Contacts

To fix this, create a simple form on a draft page in Kajabi. Use a Single Opt-In Form, not Double Opt-In. Preview the page and enter the names and emails of unsubscribed contacts exactly as they appear in your contacts. Kajabi recognizes these contacts and sends them a resubscribe email. You can edit this email template in Kajabi's Settings under Email Templates.

Editing the Resubscribe Email

Find the "Double Opt-In Resubscribe" template and modify it to include a message like, "Hey, I noticed you haven't been getting my program emails. To receive updates, please click this button to resubscribe." This gives people a chance to rejoin your list and receive important communications.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can ensure that all program participants receive your emails, resolving the discrepancy between the number of people in your program and the number of email sends. Give it a try and see how it helps!
