Introduction
In the last episode of Kajabi in Five Minutes, I mentioned how to create a menu on the library page that connects to your external website. Menus in Kajabi aren't very intuitive, so today, we'll discuss navigation and creating menus in Kajabi. This episode is more of a "show" rather than "tell" type, but I'll do my best to explain it through this podcast.
Navigations and Menus in Kajabi
First, go to Websites in Kajabi, where you'll find Navigation. This is where you build your menus. Kajabi has standard menus and custom ones, allowing you to create and edit your own. For example, on a website, you might have your logo in the middle of the page with menus on the left and right. You would create a menu called "Main Menu Left" and add links or pages to it.
Adding Links and Pages
You can add a link or a page to your menu. A link allows you to type in a URL, which can be any URL. If you're linking to your own pages, you can start with a slash after your domain. For example, if your domain is "thecoachsupport.com," you can link to your own pages by starting with "/stuff" for a page called "stuff."
When adding a page, you get a dropdown list of all your website and landing pages. This method is useful because the URL doesn't matter. If you change the URL of a page, the link in the menu will still work because it's identified by the page name.
Implementing Menus on Your Website
In the website or landing pages editor, choose which menu to put in. For example, if you have a logo in the middle with menus on the left and right, click into the header, add the content, and select your menus from the dropdown list. The links in these menus will then appear on your page.
Customizing Menus
If you want more control over the appearance of your menu, such as changing the font size, type, color, spacing, highlighting, or underlining, check out my course called "The Kajabi Code." It offers copy-and-paste code to customize your menu's appearance, which is not easily done by default in Kajabi.
Conclusion
That's how you create and customize menus in Kajabi. Tune in next time for more tips and tricks!
